New bionic waterproof golf clothing has been revealed by Glenmuir.
Published: 12 September 2011
Glenmuir has unveiled a new range of bionic waterproof golf clothing aimed at increasing water repellence for those hitting the fairways in hazardous conditions. With the help of bionics nanotechnology, the golf apparel is to provide additional warmth and protection when the temperature dips and is to feature heavily in the organisation's autumn and winter collections this year.
The Bionic-Finish can be found in four new lambswool sweaters from Glenmuir - the Derwent, Hebden, Kielder and Jupiter lines.
This approach offers a flexible barrier to water, oil and soil and serves to bolster the water resistance of the wool, as well as offering added defence against abrasion.
Brian Mair, marketing director at Glenmuir - which has a history stretching back to 1891 - said: "What the Derwent, Kielder, Jupiter, Wrexham and Hebden sweaters will offer golfers is advanced protection against light rain or occasional short showers without the need to scramble for a waterproof."
