Golf clothing fans should refrain from bright shoes and belts.

People should think hard when mixing golf apparel.Matching garish shoes and a similar belt is something golf apparel fans might want to avoid when out on the course in the future.

It is a look recently adopted by Kris Blanks - who sported bright red footwear with a belt of the same hue - and is one that has drawn criticism from the Chapeau Noir Golf blog.

The ensemble chosen by Blanks - who turned professional in 1995 and stands five ft ten inches tall - was described as something that draws comparisons with the Wicked Witch of the East in The Wizard of Oz, with the source noting: "Blanks' style quotient takes a hit that no man can possibly endure."

Another golf aesthetic to hit the headlines is the way in which many players are wearing their hair.

The blog noted competitors such as Adam Hadwin, Rickie Fowler and Hunter Mahan have all been embracing longer locks of late.
