Golfers in America have been wrapping up warm to play throughout the winter.

'Bundle up in golf apparel' when playing during winterWrapping up in layers of golf apparel is the only option for some golfers in America who are still desperate to play throughout the winter months.

Even when it is freezing cold outside, golf enthusiast Mary Marinari of Edgewater was noted by HometownAnnapolis.com as heading out to play at Annapolis Golf Club.

She even went out last weekend when temperatures dropped as low as minus 24 degrees to hit the range or play nine holes.

To be able to keep playing in the cold conditions, she will normally forget about golf fashion and wrap up instead in snow boots and a winter jacket and gloves.

"My max is three layers (of clothing)," Ms Marinari told the publication. "I can't move after that."

Golfers can head out in weather just as challenging in the UK, as John Garrity wrote for golf.com that he had experienced some "delectable" golf at Askernish in Scotland earlier this month.
