Colourful golf clothing has been worn for a fundraiser.Bright golf apparel has been sported by a number of players keen to stand out from the crowd during a celebrity golf tournament.

Friends of Joshua P Williams - a young man from the US who died in 2002 as a result of a snowboarding accident - decided to sport one-colour outfits for the contest, which was being held to raise funds for the foundation set up in Mr Williams' name, the Issaquah Press reports.

The guys each wore a different hue - including blue, red, yellow and orange - on the day and Debra Williams, the event organiser and Mr Williams' mother, said: "They look like popsicles out there. They make it fun."

More than 200 people took part in the match, which also saw numerous celebrities sport golf clothing as they took to the course.

These included Olympic gold medallist Tracie Ruiz-Conforto, Seattle Sounders player Chance Fry and retired NFL star Alonzo Mitz.

The Joshua P Williams Foundation was set up with an emphasis on helping youth, families and the community.
