A big turnout greeted golf apparel clad celebrities at a recent event.

A big crowd turned out to see celebrities sport their golf apparel at the recent Joe Fortunato Celebrity Golf Classic.The Natchez Democrat reports that many people attended the event, in which stars such as Walt Brown, outgoing president of the Mississippi-Louisiana chapter of the National Football Foundation and Catherine Fortunato.
Funds from the event went towards scholarships for six athletes, with $10,000 (£6,000) going to one senior from local schools.
Commenting on the success of the event, Catherine Fortunato expressed excitement at the turnout.
"We're having a good turnout. We had 26 teams (in the four-man scramble), and beautiful weather. Guests include Bailey Howell, Noland Smith, Perry Harrington and Jack Benson," she said.
Joe Fortunato, the man the annual event is named for, extended his gratiutude to attendees, donors and players at the tournament.
The Deseret News recently reported that basketball star Jimmer Fredette had been confirmed as a participant for this summer's American Century Golf Championship.
