Golf news: Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy have each collected a Laureus Award.

Darren Clarke swapped his golf apparel for a smart dinner suit as he picked up the latest award recognising his triumphs in 2012.The Northern Irishman, who won last year's British Open and also came second in the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year poll, looked dapper in a black suit as he collected the Comeback of the Year title at the Laureus World Sports Awards in London.
Clarke was handed the trophy by Laureus Academy member Gary Player as reward for his performance at Royal St George's that resulted in him hoisting the Claret Jug for the first time in his career.
Compatriot Rory McIlroy - who emerged victorious at the 2011 US Open Championship at Congressional - was also honoured at the ceremony, where he was presented with the Breakthrough of the Year gong.
Other winners on the night included tennis ace Novak Djokovic and long-distance runner Vivian Cheruiyot, who picked up the World Sportsman of the Year and World Sportswoman of the Year awards respectively.
