Delhi men turn to golf clothingGolf clothing is being favoured by men in Delhi as the sport experiences a boom in popularity.

The Indian Express reports that the capital city is "teeming with 'golf widows'" who have been abandoned in favour of fashionable golf shirts and argyle golf knitwear.

"Delhi has turned into a golfer's paradise, however the sport remains a pursuit which keeps the Dad away from home on weekends for many exasperated wife and children," said the publication.

It consulted Taranjeet Singh, head of advertising sales for BBC News, who claimed that some of the "widows" have taken up the game just "for the sake of spending time with their spouses".

The publication also spoke to Kirti Majumdar, who camps out at the driving range each weekend to watch her husband hit balls for hours upon end.

These new players could be well-catered for, as Score Golf columnist Bob Weeks recently noted the vast array of golf apparel being exhibited at the PGA Merchandise Show.
