Young golf fashion wearers will be able to practice on a new green.Glenmuir golf clothing fan Paul Lawrie has opened up a new facility at Lumphanan Golf Club in Scotland.

The former Open Champion cut the ribbon on a new putting green and driving net at the venue, which reopened in 2000 after being forced to close down in the 1960s, the Donside Piper and Herald reports.

Young golf fashion enthusiasts look set to benefit from the development, as a piece of unused ground at the club has been converted into its new guise to help juniors improve their game.

Ken Rankin, captain at the club, said he was delighted to have Lawrie on hand to open the facility.

"Paul is a great role model and does a tremendous amount for children in the north-east. We are proud of this practice area which will serve a variety of purposes," he added.

Lumphanan Golf Club is host to a nine-hole course that is located in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, sitting around 25 miles west of the city of Aberdeen.
