Golf news: The game has been included on a cool list.
Published: 03 November 2011
It seems golf apparel and the people who wear it while out on the course are becoming increasingly trendy. This is because the 18-hole game has been described as one of the more popular sports among fashionistas by men's magazine Shortlist.
The publication has included golf in its 49 New Rules of Cool feature, suggesting men try their hand at swinging clubs in a relaxed setting as opposed to getting all hot and sweaty competing in a five-a-side football match.
According to the article, golf competitors are getting younger, while the golf apparel they wear is becoming increasingly stylish.
It added: "Why graph your physical decline through a series of slowing kickabouts when you can spend quality time playing a game that actually allows for conversation?"
Other suggestions on the cool list included growing a beard - such as that often sported by The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis - rather than getting tattoos, drinking black coffee as opposed to lattes and wearing loafers instead of brogues.
