Golf apparel wearers may use solar-powered carts.Golf apparel fans could soon find they are travelling around courses in a different type of vehicle thanks to developers in the US.

Solar Cart Solutions have come up with a new solar-powered golf buggy called the Sunmobile and it promises the motors will be easy to charge and can muster up significant speeds, news-press.com reports.

According to the manufacturers, golf clothing wearers can achieve a maximum pace of 25 mph in the cart, thanks partly to its four-wheel, independent suspension.

Hans Holzmann of Solar Cart Solutions said: "It's like going into overdrive."

The Sunmobile is put together with 80 per cent US-made parts and uses thin-film panelling that is lighter than those used in other solar power kits.

It is hoped instances of carts being left stranded due to battery life running out will be kept low, as the sun will charge the vehicles when they are outdoors.

Those using the machine may wish to sport sunglasses as part of their golf fashion, as beauty guru at nhjstyle.com Nicky Hambleton-Jones recently noted sunrays can damage eyes all year round.
