Golf apparel stolen from Cambridge clubGolf apparel was among some of the items stolen by thieves from a golf course in Cambridge.

The News and Crier reports that on the night of Wednesday December 15th, burglars broke into the Hemingford Abbots Golf Club in St Ives.

There they ransacked the venue, making off with a "large quantity" of golf apparel and equipment.

Detective constable Sarah Fines said officers are keen to hear from anyone with information about the incident.

"In particular I would appeal to people to be wary if they are offered golf clothing or equipment at very cheap prices over the coming weeks," she said.

This comes after a recent Technorati article named golf apparel as one of the top presents for players.

Its guide to Christmas gifts for golfers claimed that no players want to wear the same golf clothing all the time and promoted a range of golf fashion items, in addition to highlighting lessons as a great gift option.
