Golf clothing is becoming increasingly popular, it has been claimed.Writing for Culture Map, columnist Jane Howze reported on her visit to the Shell Houston Open, where she noted the changing culture of the sport.
She consulted Vicki Bernstein, vice president of retailer operations for Redstone, who revealed that sales of golf apparel have risen by 25 per cent when compared to figures from last year.
Ms Howze revealed that brightly-coloured golf clothing from famous brands is in vogue right now, with Ms Bernstein explaining that older golfers are increasingly opting to dress in the "oranges and yellows" sported by Rickie Fowler.
Children's golf apparel was also noted as a popular fixture, with sales "booming" in the field of junior attire.
Ms Howze went on to examine the "Bling Bar", where enthusiasts go to have their equipment customised with accessories and other features.
Brightly-coloured golf apparel was recently revealed as a favourite of veteran player Tom Watson, who told the Khaki Crusader blog about his love of this type of dress.
