Golf clothing entrepreneur re-launches TV channelA golf clothing entrepreneur has revealed his intentions to re-launch a TV channel.

Speaking to the Journal, Jamie O'Neil, who started the company to sell golf apparel over the internet in 2007, revealed that the station would broadcast events from a new local amateur tour.

The Great North Golf Tour is due to kick off in Northumberland at the Linden Hall course during March.

Managing director of Golf Locker TV Jamie O'Neil promoted the event, noting that any amateur can apply.

"The majority of golfers will never have a chance to play in a situation like this. There's going to be banners and TV cameras filming them taking their shots," he said.

Mr O'Neil went on to state that the region "needs" this type of event to showcase its "fantastic" courses.

According to the Great North Golf Tour website, all amateur entrants are in the running for prizes, which are awarded to those who place in the top three at each event.
