Golf apparel is considered mainstream in the US, it has been claimed.

The wide proliferation of golf clothing could be a sign that the sport is becoming more accepted in the mainstream, it has been claimed.Writing for Stuff.co.nz's The Golf Nut blog, columnist Michael Goldstein reported on his recent trip to the southern US and noted that "golf fever" has gripped the region.
However, Mr Goldstein was particularly suprised by the popularity of golf clothing in the area - and spoke about his disbelief.
"What shocked me was the sheer number of people wearing golf attire. Four guys were sitting around a table with their polo shirts (in New Zealand known as a 'Bob Charles') tucked into their golf shorts," he said.
Mr Goldstein went on to state that encountering golf apparel such as this back in New Zealand would be highly unlikely and claimed the sport is seen as "far more cool" in the US.
Canada is one location where golf apparel is viewed as mainstream, as Belleville's Jodie Jenkins revealed it would be one of the topics covered when he returns to the airwaves this April with his Golf Guy programme, the Intelligencer reported.
