Golf clothing wearers will still be able to play at Golf Links on the Isle of Islay after a UK power couple bought the course.

Golf apparel is likely to be sported by players at Golf Links on the Isle of Islay - which is part of the southern Hebrides - for some time to come after the course was saved from financial collapse. The venue - as well as the Machrie Hotel - has been purchased by former BBC chairman Gavyn Davies and his wife Baroness Sue Nye.
Such a move comes seven months after the course - widely regarded as one of the best links locations in the world - was placed into administration.
Blair Nimmo, joint administrator on the development, said it is extremely satisfying to have found a buyer for the grounds.
"The Machrie is an internationally recognised golfing venue and both the hotel and golf course are of significant importance to the local economy on Islay," he added.
Mr Nimmo pointed out he is hopeful the transaction will ensure the course sees plenty of golfing action for the foreseeable future.
