Golf clothing manufacturer Glenmuir has updated one of its proprietary fabrics. The company's renowned Storm Bloc weatherproof material has been upgraded to provide players with freedom of movement via greater stretching.
Storm Bloc's latest iteration will be used in 12 products across Glenmuir's range of golf clothing for men, women and juniors and the firm claims it will provide "outstanding" protection from the elements.
The material makes use of a Teflon-coated oil and water resistance outer face, which is complemented with lightweight liner. Golf clothing using the material in 2011 will also see the addition of elastine, which will enable easier stretching.
"The Teflon repel protector and new stretch fabric make this a supremely effective and comfortable," said Glenmuir.
After starting life as a hosiery producer in Kirkfieldbank near Lanark, Glenmuir moved into the world of golf apparel and has designed and supplied shirts and items of knitwear for 12 European Ryder Cup teams.
