India could soon become a centre for golf fashion.
Published: 27 January 2012
India could be about to witness a boom in golf fashion as the popularity of the sport in the Asian nation continues to rise.Padamjit Sandhu, director of the Professional Golf Tour of India - which was formed in 2006 - noted the 18-hole game is becoming more favoured across the country and he hopes the positive feedback given by players taking to the tee at Kensville Golf and Country Club as part of the Challenge Tour will spread encouragement even further.
Mr Sandhu stated: "Our major long-term objective is to grow the game and generate interest across the whole country, not just in the big cities."
He explained that should there be a course with the capacity to host an event, every effort will be made in order to ensure the tour stops off at the venue.
Indeed, the tournaments held so far have proven to be a great success, Mr Singh went on to point out.
