People choosing suitable golf apparel when hitting the fairways this summer might also want to think about how much sunscreen they will need when spending long hours in the sun.Including sunblock in golf fashion bags could prove a wise move - especially in light of new research that suggests men are skimping on their use of such products.
Commissioned by Cancer Research UK - which was established as the Cancer Research Fund in 1902 - and carried out by YouGov, the survey revealed almost 90 per cent of UK adults have suffered from being sunburnt at one time or another.
The report showed just 47 per cent of men use at least factor 15 sunscreen and are also less likely than their female counterparts to take other measures to protect their skin, such as covering up with clothing.
Cancer Research UK's SunSmart campaign manager Caroline Cerny said: "Traditionally it's been women who want to sport a suntan but this survey suggests men crave this look as well but are forgetting to protect their skin."
