Golf apparel has featured on the fashion catwalks.Golf clothing with a difference has been featured on the fashion catwalks after designer Miuccia Prada admitted the on-course style inspired her latest spring and summer menswear collection.

The industry figure said she used the sporty aesthetic because it allowed her to merge a number of ideas and cultures into one basic theme.

She explained: "I was using golf as an excuse to make it eccentric."

The show in Milan featured artificial turf, while the models sported fringed golf shoes and some even carried golf bags as they posed for the crowds.

Ms Prada added: "It's international and crosses all cultures, I mean completely crazy."

The models walked down the catwalk to a remix version of Cole Porter's Summertime, with a number of them also wearing golf caps.

Last month, players eager to improve their golf fashion were handed a number of tips by the Of Rogues and Gentleman blog, which advised newcomers to go for golf apparel in a solid colour, such as red or yellow.
