Golf fashion pundit examines importance of socksA golf fashion pundit has examined the effect a pair of socks can have on the performance of a player.

Writing for the Khaki Crusader, columnist Annmarie Dodd expressed her love of the golf clothing and noted how significant the footwear is to her general wellbeing.

"I'm head-over-heels about my socks. It's a crazy thing to realize – and an even crazier thing to say out loud. I'm one of those people that if my feet aren't happy, I'm not happy," she said.

Ms Dodd went on to note that the right pair of socks can have a profound effect on her game and cited a recent experience as evidence.

While training on a treadmill for a forthcoming event, she noted one set with a superfine merino wool blend made her feel as if "I had an extra spring in my step".

This comes after Mike McAllister of Chapeau Noir Golf noted that mainstream footwear is increasingly influencing the shoes of golf apparel companies.
