Golf news: A new course at Ramside Hall Hotel is set to open.

Golf fashion from across the world could soon be displayed at a new course located on the outskirts of Durham.A project is underway at Ramside Hall Hotel - which used to be the home of the Pemberton family before being transformed into a hotel in 1963 - to develop a new 18-hole championship venue that will also include 34 luxury homes, a leisure centre and banqueting facilities.
It is hoped the project will attract golf apparel wearers from across the globe, while also helping to create 104 new jobs and result in additional income of £11 million for the tourist economy.
John Adamson, estates director of the scheme, said the development will result in a first-class resort to be proud of.
The industry figure added: "Ramside is already considered among the finest golf destinations in the North of England and by expanding the hotel and creating a new course we are polishing our golfing diamond."
