Golf apparel might no longer be seen at Stowe School.Golf fashion might no longer be seen on the premises of Stowe School after proposals were voiced to move its golf course off-site.

Both the learning establishment and the National Trust - which has a history stretching back to 1884 and selected its name one year later - are pushing for the facility to be relocated so that the grounds can be restored to their original 18th century state, the BBC reports.

Should the development be given the green light, a new nine-hole course will be constructed in the grounds near to the school.

Speaking in response to concerns that such an undertaking might prove disruptive to the local wildlife, operations director at Stowe School Nic Morris said the new complex would be built into the landscape as "sensitively as possible".

He added: "We have been working with the trust for several years now and believe that the next logical step is to open up the western garden."
