Golf news: Ian Woosnam has had input in new Forgan club designs. In golf news likely to please golf apparel fans keen to bolster their short game, a range of new tour spin wedges have been unveiled by Forgan.

The manufacturer, which was established in 1860, has revealed the clubs are available in four lofts - from 52 to 64 degrees - and aim to provide a reliable recovery option for all eventualities on the course.

Indeed, the 52 degree version offers an answer for those yardages lying between the ranges reachable by pitching and sand wedges, the 56 degree design is suitable for both sand and rough play, while the 60 and 64 degree models provide a high trajectory.

Technology used on the development of the clubs has been devised using feedback from tour players Ian Woosnam and DJ Russell and the C sole design should help players regardless of whether they are in sand or on grass.

Forgan noted: "Deep grooves deliver outstanding levels of spin and the anti-glare black finish makes it super-easy to see whether you want the face to sit square, open or closed at address."
