Attendees of the Gary Player Invitational in Shanghai, China, showed off their golf fashion as they played a part in raising considerable sums for charity.Around $2 million was generated (£1.25 million) at the tournament - money that will be donated to help children in China who have been affected by HIV and Aids, World Golf reports.
Gary Player - who became the third man to win the career grand slam at the age of just 29 - explained the contest was the fifth of its type and each year it seems to get better and better.
Many individuals turned out in golf apparel for the occasion and the golfer said: "The support we received from our sponsors and guests was incredible, especially during such difficult economic times."
He observed it is truly gratifying to know the money raised will be used to go toward such a good cause, adding he could not thank everyone enough for getting involved with the proceedings, while he is already looking forward to next year's gathering.
