A fine display on the second day of the course saw Glenmuir golf apparel wearer Paul Lawrie climb the leaderboard of the tournament held in his home country. The Aberdonian shot a 64 in the second round of the Scottish Open to follow on from his opening 71, which meant he equalled the Castle Stuart course record.
He looked to have overcome a shoulder problem that has been niggling him of late, as he saw his performance on the green improve dramatically.
Lawrie stated: "I putted absolutely magnificently out there," as his sinking of the balls led to rapturous applause from the home crowd.
He finished the tournament on -11 after hitting a final round of 70 and is now looking forward to the British Open.
The Scottish Open was won by world number one Luke Donald, who shot a 19-under-par total to claim his third title of 2011, ahead of second-placed Fredrik Andersson-Hed.
