A number of the biggest names in the sport will be packing their golf apparel and heading to South Korea in 2015, as the country has been named host of the Presidents Cup.It will be the first time the event has been held in Asia and it is hoped the tournament will help increase the sport's growing popularity in the region.
The specific venue for the competition will not be announced until the middle of next year but Yong-Eun Yang, one of the three South Korean players on this year's Presidents Cup team at Royal Melbourne, said he is pleased such a prestigious tournament will be held in his home country.
Yang - who was born in Jeju-do in 1972 and turned professional in 1996 - stated: "I feel very proud that I picked up golf as a living. I have no doubt this will improve the golf culture and golf market in Korea."
