Half of WGC finalists wore 'notable' golf apparel accessoriesA pundit has examined the prolific use of accessories among the finalists at the recent World Golf Championship (WGC) Match Play event in Arizona.

Writing for the Khaki Crusader, columnist Sean Hotchkiss noted that these golf clothing fixtures have been notably absent on the fairways in the past decade

However, he claimed that the WGC event saw the culmination of a steady build-up for accessory usage.

"Out of the final eight players in match play, half were making notable accessory statements. Matt Kuchar and Bubba Watson were both wearing very noticeable white watches," Mr Hotchkiss said.

He went on to note that new world number one Martin Kaymer was also seen wearing what could be the "first ever muffler scarf worn in a Tour event".

Golf fashion icon Ian Poulter also turned up to the tournament in Arizona, after being kitted out in golf apparel voted for by his fans.
