Kieren Fallon will be sporting golf apparel for a charity round.A number of championship jockeys are to swap their silks for golf apparel when they compete in a fundraising tournament.

Kieren Fallon, Josh Gifford, Tony McCoy, Wally Swinburn, John Francome and Kevin Darley are to take to the fairways for the 21st annual Jim Old Racing Golf Day, the Swindon Advertiser reports.

The event is taking place at Marlborough Golf Club on Monday August 8th and is aiming to help 63-year-old National Hunt trainer Jim Old raise £20,000 for charity.

While the others have all sported golf clothing for the spectacle before, this year will see Darley - who is the co-president of the Jockeys' Association - take up the challenge for the first time.

Mr Old said: "I am indebted to all my many friends in racing for continuing to support one of the best golf days for the racing fraternity."

In total, £350,000 has been raised through the competition down the years and money generated this time around will once again go to the Injured Jockeys Fund.
