Ian Poulter is known for his golf apparel. There are currently a number of players standing out from the crowd with their choice of golf clothing at present, one expert has suggested.

Writing for his Chapeau Noir Golf blog, Mike McAllister - who also writes a golf fashion column for the PGA Tour under the guise the Man in the Black Hat - noted Ian Poulter has been at the top of the pile for golf apparel in recent years.

However, Mr McAllister observed Poulter - who is also known for his love of cars - has been overtaken in the style stakes of late, with Ryo Ishikawa of Japan becoming the "leading man of fashion in golf".

"Ishikawa always has something up his sleeve with which to surprise us. I find myself looking to see what he's wearing before anyone else," he explained.

Another competitor catching the eye at present is young American player Kyle Stanley, who wears slim lines that serve to complement his frame.
