Children and adults all got involved in taster sessions at golf courses across Wales recently, which could help the sale of golf clothing in the country.

Taster sessions of golf may lead to more interest in golf clothingThere may be plenty more people heading out to the shops to pick up golf clothing in the near future, after the recent Golf Awareness Week saw a whole host of players invited on to more than 100 greens and fairways across Wales.

Many of the people that took part in the free golf sessions may have never had a go at the sport and will need to kit themselves out for the next time they hit the links.

Club pro Tom Davies told Golf Development Wales that the occasion was fantastic.

The theme of the day was 'Pick it up for the Ryder Cup' and many children did just that, suggesting that demand for golf apparel for young people may also be on the rise.

"We did not have loads and loads of people turning up to play golf but the majority of the people who did took up our membership offer so it went down really well," added Mr Davies.

Glenmuir is a partner of the Ryder Cup, which is set to take place in Wales from October 1st to 3rd.
