Golf is in fashion, according to one journalist, largely thanks to the success and popularity of Tiger Woods. It was recently revealed by statistician Mark Knoller of CBS Radio that US president Barack Obama has taken to the fairways 32 times since assuming office in the White House.
And it is also well known that celebrities and stars such as Jay Z, Will Smith and Michael Jordan have a penchant for sporting golf clothing and hitting some balls.
And according to Oliver Brown, the person who has put the hip-hop in golf - in America, particularly - is Tiger Woods.
"Superstars such as Jay-Z and Jordan might be immensely popular with Americans of every colour, but the celebration of their golfing exploits owes everything to Woods," he wrote in the Daily Telegraph.
Other celebrities who are well-known for their love of golf apparel and 18 holes include Samuel L Jackson, Bill Murray, Alice Cooper and Jodie Kidd.
