Old-school goof apparel has been sported at the Wyandotte Shores Golf Course Hickory Open.

Participants at an inaugural US tournament turned back the clock and sported vintage golf apparel in order to get a feel of how playing the sport would have felt back in the day.Competitors in the Wyandotte Shores Golf Course Hickory Open also took to the fairways with 1930s antique clubs for the 18-hole contest, the Wyandotte Patch reports.
The six men opted for golf fashion that included baggy trousers tucked into high socks and chequered pants and hats.
Ed Ronco, organiser of the event - which was held in memory of player Ernie Smith - said it took a little time to get used to swinging with the old-style irons and putters.
Mr Ronco noted: "A hickory driver hits the ball about 15-20 per cent shorter than the modern equipment. The irons all have their own personality."
The clubs were purchased from eBay and via numerous garage sales, he added.
