Watches are likely to carry on being an important part of golf fashion despite an uptake in other gadgets able to perform similar functions.A representative of WatchesandReviews.com has claimed the rising popularity of smartphones - such as the recent release of the iPhone 4S - does not signal the end for timepieces.
The industry figure pointed out such wristwear is one of the few products males can accessorise with in the present day, compared to the necklaces, bracelets and earrings most women choose to adorn themselves with.
A practical watch may therefore be a great way for players to bolster their golf fashion when out on the course, as mobile phones would not be suitable for such an occasion.
The spokesman explained clocks have existed for years, yet people still choose to wear timepieces on their arms, adding: "A watch is a great accessory - it can project a lot about a man's style, personality, or interests."
