Paul Lawrie will be looking to perform well in his Glenmuir golf apparel over the coming days, as he has claimed this time of the year is his personal favourite.Writing on his blog, the Scotsman described the British Open as the highlight of the golfing calendar.
He explained he has rented a townhouse in Sandwich for the week of the event, adding he took a plane from Aberdeen to Gatwick before travelling by courtesy car to the accommodation.
And it appears Lawrie has wasted no time getting into his golf apparel and hitting the fairways, as he has already shot nine holes at the course - but was forced to walk the remaining nine due to strong winds.
He added: "The course is awesome and is playing like a proper links, especially today with the wind blowing quite a bit."
Royal St George's has been the venue for the British Open many times down the years, including in 1981, 1985, 1993 and 2003.
