Work on a new bridge at a golf course in Wales has almost finished, it has been reported.According to the European Tour website, the "finishing touches" are now being put to the 120-metre long suspension bridge which is being built at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales, in time for the Ryder Cup next year.
The Ryder Cup is set to kick off at the resort in October 2010.
The bridge is set to provide a way for golf-apparel clad players to get from the resort to the practice ground and has cost around £2 million to complete.
It will also be used by spectators and can take golf buggies carrying players.
The new practice ground has been constructed as part of a £16 million investment in the Celtic Manor Resort.
Commenting on the renovations, vice-president of facilities and development at the Celtic Manor Resort Russell Philips said: "As well as the new practice ground, which includes a driving range and chipping and putting greens for the players, land on the other side of the river from the golf course will also house a large TV compound for the worlds sports broadcasters."
