Ian Poulter wore bright golf apparel yesterday. Some of the world's top golfers defied the blustery conditions on the TPC Blue Monster at Doral, Florida yesterday (March 11th) by turning out in bright and summery golf clothing.

Ian Poulter, well-known for his interesting and often flamboyant golf fashion, took to the tee in purple, yellow and blue-checked golf trousers, baby blue performance golf shirt and red shoes.

He shot a 72 to tie for 24th place.

In addition, Yuta Ikeda hit the fairways in vibrant red golf trousers.

However, tournament leader Charl Schwartzel was a little more reserved in his choice of golf fashion - wearing beige slacks and a white polo shirt.

The South African hit a bogey-free, five-under-par 67 to top the leaderboard.
Commenting on his performance, he said: "The big achievement for me today was not making any bogeys. That kept the scorecard very clean."
He added he is delighted at the way he has started the season, after already picking up two titles so far and leaving himself in the running for a third this weekend.
