Golfers tee off to raise money for charityA group of cabbies in Scotland have taken to the golf course to tee off in aid of a children's cancer charity, it has been reported.

According to the East Lothian Courier, a group of taxi drivers played at three different courses on Tuesday (July 7th), in memory of a local boy who died from a rare form of leukaemia in May.

Six-year-old Charlie Pearson was diagnosed with juvenile myelomonocytic leukaemia last September and was receiving treatment at the Sick Kids' Hospital in Edinburgh.

Beginning in the early morning, the golfers first played at the Whitekirk Golf Club, before moving on to Castle Park at Castlemains in Gifford and ending up at Craigielaw Golf Club.

Community fundraising manager for CLIC Sargent Hamish Allridge told the news resource: "On behalf of CLIC Sargent, I would like to thank the taxi drivers for their marvellous efforts and support for the Pearson family and for the charity."

In related golf news, it was recently announced that a group of golfers are set to tee off in glow-in-the-dark golf apparel for charity.
