New golf grips could prove to be a great golf gift for any golf-loving friend or relative.
Published: 25 September 2009
Grips on clubs are often the first thing to wear out after a summer of action on the fairways of the local course.Barry Wallis, performance and education manager for Callaway Golf, told the Observer: "Check to see if the grips are shiny or cracked - this is a sign they need to be replaced."
Club grips should be cleaned regularly to prevent dirt discolouring or weakening the club handle.
But with the cost of new grips amounting to less than 18 holes at a standard course, it is cheap and easy to treat your golfing acquaintances to new ones this winter as a Christmas golf gift.
They may also prevent your favourite golfer following in the footsteps of Australian Cameron White, who this week launched legal action against a golf shop after snapping tendons in his hand mid-swing, the Courier-Mail reports.
