As the cold weather continues, more and more golfers are buying warm golf apparel and golf accessories to ensure they stay warm when teeing off.Golf hats and golf jumpers could both help gamers to stay warm and concentrate on their game.
Owner of the Goal Line Golf and Hockey store David Damrow told the Wausau Herald that he had seen a rise of 15 per cent in the sale of warm clothing over the past month.
Fellow sportswear store manager Tom Keenan commented to the source that it was the wind which had the greatest impact on the temperature.
"Wind is really the key. That can make the below-zero temperatures double very quickly," he said.
The Wausau Herald reports that keeping warm while playing sport doesn't always have to mean investing in high-tech clothing.
According to the newspaper, keeping skin covered is usually key.
The Mirror reports that golf pro Sandy Lyle quit a round during last year's Open saying his hands were cold.
Lyle may find that warm golf apparel is the ideal purchase ahead of this year's Open to help him play his best.
