Golf apparel wearers should not be jumping into lakes to celebrate victories, Colin Montgomerie has claimed.

Glenmuir golf apparel fan Colin Montgomerie has called for an end to players celebrating a victory by jumping into a lake. The Scotsman called the current trend "silly" after Thomas Levet suffered a broken leg by throwing himself in the water after a triumphant round in Paris.
On top of the fact that such a practice could damage a player's golf apparel, Montgomerie said the shallowness of some of the water hazards might pose serious health risks.
When asked if he would ever celebrate in such a way, he stated: "Never. I think it's the silliest thing that players have done over the years, I really do."
Montgomerie - who stands six ft one inches - explained he recently played a round with Thomas Bjorn, when the pair discovered a body of water on the course was little more than a couple of feet deep.
The duo said they hoped competitors will think twice before leaping in the lakes from now on.
