Golf player's golf apparel not as flashy as some other gamers.

Golf fashion is heading for a change this season.Golfer Nick Watney has the "pleasant unpretentiousness" of someone who works in a grocery store, one sports writer has noted - and it is partly down to his golf apparel.

Writing for the New York Times, Karen Crouse notes that Watney does not wear the "flashy" golf clothing of fellow pro golfer, Colombian Camilo Villegas.

The writer also comments that Watney is not precocious in character like other players but that he is fine with his "relative anonymity".

"I think good play will take care of a lot of that," he told the source.

Golf.com recently noted that this season's golf fashion was heading for a change.

Writer Woody Hochswender says that after a number of seasons which saw stripy golf apparel in fashion, this season's golf clothing was set to be more about "knit Jacquard shirts that combine performance with classic styling".

The site notes that Jacquard fabric is now working its way into high performance golf clothing.
