It was hard not to notice Eirik Tage Johansen in Portugal this week, due to a combination of his golf clothing and his brilliant performance on the links. He sported a stunning pair of electric blue and black plaid golf trousers, teamed with a bright blue performance golf shirt and white cap.
Johansen carded 65 on the first day of the Estoril Open de Portugal in his daring golf apparel, showing particularly impressive ability on the back nine to take a clubhouse lead midway through the first day.
"I was hitting it pretty close on the front nine, then on the back nine I started making some longer putts. So all in all, it was a pretty good day," remarked the Norwegian.
He said he enjoyed the round and reserved special praise for the condition of the course.
Since Johansen finished his round, he was overtaken by Englishman Luke Goddard and Irishman Damien McGrane, who are a shot ahead on eight under par.
