College golfers playing in upstate New York have been advised to pack extra golf clothing as they prepare for an upcoming event.Golfers playing for Cornell University's team were warned to bring extra golf apparel to the Northeast Intercollegiate tournament in Westerly, the Cornell Sun reports.
Due to the challenging weather expected at the event, extra golf apparel was recommended by team coach Matthew Baughan.
"[Coach Baughan] even sent out an email to us today telling everybody who's travelling this weekend to bring both rain gear and extra cold weather clothes. As he put it, 'welcome to college golf'," one senior told the publication.
The tournament will mark the last event of the season for Cornell and both wind and rain are predicted at the second ever Northeast Intercollegiate tournament.
The inaugural event last year was won by a team from the American International College, led by Kevin Daniels and Gregory Strattner.
