A golf fashion blogger has called for answers regarding the failure of the US 2010 Ryder Cup team's golf apparel.Writing in his golf fashion blog, the Khaki Crusader said that the failure of the US team's golf clothing was due to an underperforming material used in the jackets called RainFlex.
He stated that the material allowed for longer contact with moisture and could cause the jacket to feel heavier, despite the wearer being fully dry underneath.
"After getting a hold of both the suits, I can tell you that RainFlex has a softer hand and I was surprised upon looking at it to hear it was 100 per cent waterproof," said the Khaki Crusader.
He went on to question why the European golf clothing, which makes use of similar TourFlex technology, outperformed that of the American team.
In another blog post, the Khaki Crusader noted the geometric patterns in some of the golf apparel on the European Tour provided by European Ryder Cup supplier Glenmuir.
