Published: 31 January 2011
Ian Poulter, a player well-known for his flamboyant golf apparel, has revealed where his passion for golf clothing came from.Speaking to Gulf Weekly, the Hertfordshire-based sportsman told how his obsession with golf clothes is rooted in his childhood.
"I was a fussy dresser when I was little," he said. "At an early age I'd go out and earn money so I could buy my own clothes."
Poulter went on to state that he believes he is fashionable but has "always been a little bit different".
He also claimed he inherited his passion from his father, who is also a "snappy dresser" and a huge fan of golf.
The veteran golfer added that he even has his own authentic tartan trousers and many fans claim he should take to the fairways with a kilt.
Last week, Poulter blasted Colin Montgomerie's course designing skills after his first round at the Volvo Golf Championships.
