Many people are expected to buy golf clothing - such as shirts, shoes and caps - in preparation for this year's US Open Championship.

Golf apparel sales are expected to increase significantly over the next two months, with fans of the 18-hole game eager to get their hands on new shirts, caps and shoes.It is anticipated that many people will be purchasing golf clothing as the US Open Championship approaches, Maryland website Gazette.Net reports.
In excess of 430,000 items are to go on sale around the tournament, activities for which will get underway on June 13th - three days before first-round play commences.
The US Golf Association's managing director of licensing and US Open merchandising Mary Lopuszynski said it is expected that 100,000 transactions will take place over the 11-day event.
She added: "The people who come want to take home a piece of the championship with them."
This year's US Open Championship is taking place at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland and features an 18th hole that is a par four and 523 yards in length.
