Those looking for a golf gift for a friend or relative could be interested to learn that the new edition of the Golf Rules Illustrated has been published by the R&A.

According to the golf body, the book - which is the 14th edition of the guide - is aimed at helping those about to don their golf apparel and head to the golf course better understand the rules around the game.

Included in the new book, which could be an ideal addition to the Christmas stocking of a golf loving friend or relative, are a number of scenarios which the R&A noted cause golfers of every level some problems on the course.

"Whereas the rule book itself is necessarily as concise as possible and designed to be carried easily in the pocket or golf bag, Golf Rules Illustrated is intended more as a reference document and companion to the rule book," said chairman of the rules of golf committee Alan Holmes.

Golfers can buy the book from online retailers such as Amazon, as well as in the R&A online shop.
