Golf apparel fraud "a blow to legitimate online sellers", it has been claimed.

A recently uncovered criminal scam which saw thousands of people sold fake golf clubs, accessories and golf clothing online should not put people off purchasing their golf apparel on the internet, it has been said.

Founder of JamGolf.com Andrew Fothergill said that the fraud "is a blow to all legitimate online sellers who work hard to deliver authentic products at low prices".

He said that now it is important to help to rebuild the confidence of those who buy their golf apparel online.

Commenting on what steps people could take to ensure they are buying genuine items when they shop for golf clothing online, Mr Fothergill urged the public to use reputable sellers who have a reputation to protect.
