Tiger Woods' golf clothing is still sponsored by Nike, but his golf bag deal with General Motors has come to an end.

While his golf clothing remains sponsored, Woods is looking for a new name to display on his golf bagGolf clothing is not the only area in which Tiger Woods is sponsored - but Nike could be looking to take over any vacancies, reports USA Today.

The publication explains that Woods' golf bag has previously been sponsored by automobile manufacturer General Motors.

However, the motoring brand has now moved on, leaving the bag up for grabs to the highest bidder.

One firm which might be interested is Nike, sponsor of Woods' golf clothing and equipment.

But Beth Gast, spokesperson for Nike Golf, tells USA Today: "We can't comment nor confirm anything regarding the sponsorship of Tiger's bag."

The move does not signal General Motors' retirement from the sport, as the article notes the Cadillac brand still sponsors Fred Couples.

Meanwhile, the Buick Open and Buick Invitational are to remain features of the PGA Tour until at least 2010 - although Woods may be absent from the events in the future.

Following the announcement of Woods' sponsorship coming to an end, Detroit Free Press noted that he is no longer required to appear at the Buick Open.
