Golf fashion blogger defends US golf apparelA golf fashion blogger has defended the golf apparel choices of the 2010 US Ryder Cup team.

Writing in a post for his golf fashion column, the Khaki Crusader said that taking risks meant the mark was sometimes missed but that it also opened the doors for further progression.

"I want to once and for all defend the lavender - or was it cornflower blue? - cardigan. I thought most of our team looked damn handsome in it," he said.

In a previous blog post, the Khaki Crusader claimed the retro-inspired uniforms for the 2010 team made a welcome change from the abysmal US uniforms of past events.

But he went on to state that this year's flared trousers looked "silly" on the shorter US players and claimed they were "comical" on America's Jeff Overton.

The Khaki Crusader also criticised Tiger Woods for "conveniently" sporting rain pants, which he said allowed the player to avoid being seen in the flared trousers.
